Get a deal done you clowns! I wonder if they noticed that the NFL playoffs are on fire? The NHL & NBA seasons are at their half way points and both their trade deadlines are approaching, so there will be all kinds of media attention for these two sports. Meanwhile, there has been no baseball talk at all, except people debating whether former steroid users should get into the HOF. No hot stove talk. No free agent signings or trades. Baseball is out of sight, out of mind. The people in charge of the sport that we love are running it into the ground. I want MLB extra Innings for $29.99. Just thought us fans oughta get something out of this horse manure… More like 6 easy payments of $29.99. |

MLB, MLBPA still far apart as scheduled start of Spring Training nears.

The MLB lockout does not appear close to ending, but whenever it does, it appears likely to be accompanied by a major rule change that has long seemed inevitable.
Both the league and the MLBPA are in agreement on a universal designated hitter rule for the 2022 season and beyond, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. At this stage, Heyman says it would require “something totally unexpected” to not happen.

In the kind of world we live in today, I don't think fans will have much patience with a strike or a lockout. Baseball always seems to come back from these things, but the public is in a generally angry mood and more people -- including me -- are ready to say "screw it" if there's a long drawn-out circus. I've pretty much walked away from the NFL, NBA and NHL, and although baseball is by far my favorite of the group, it wouldn't take a whole lot for me to add it to the list. And I never felt that way at all during the other CBA fights going back to the first one in 1972. |

You're making it tough on me Kaybli! I could never lose my love for the game of baseball or its history. But I could get fed up enough in my cranky old age to tune out.
Even if it came to that, I'd still hang out on the BS and music threads! This is the only social media site I post on anymore. The others I used to visit are bloody battlefields these days. There's plenty of Real Life to keep me occupied.

MLBPA Rejects MLB’s Request For Federal Mediation
For sure Spring training will NOT start on time and MAYBE the regular season too. Thank GOD for College BB, GOLF and CURLING.
