It took me until now to completely loose my interest in the Hall of Fame. Almost 68 years old. The first time I heard of the place I thought of it as baseball heaven, nirvana. Now… it’s the litter box, and needs cleaned out. More and more things in there that don’t belong…

Now… it’s the litter box, and needs cleaned out. More and more things in there that don’t belong… Harold Baines and David Ortiz are going to be HOF's and Bonds, Clemens, Arod and even Mattingly are not. Makes the place irrelevant.

Ortiz, Bonds, Clemens. The cream, the clear, the needle and the damage done. For me, it’s disgraceful. Shoeless Joe Jackson is out. The HGH crew are in.

Unlike Ortiz, Tex was a complete player, helping you games with his defense too.

Up until age 29, Teixeira wax a .290 career hitter. His skills eroded quickly afterward as he only hit .239 from that point til his retirement. I don’t see what would made anyone giggle about that. You’re tiptoeing in TMarino territory now. Between this and your open betting against the Yankees you’re not putting much of a shine on your Yankees fandom. But your free to your opinions, and free to root for whomever you want to. Taunting the opinions of the rest of us and besmirching the players is a disappointing aspect…

YOU STATED (Replied to my Post): “Up until age 29, Teixeira wax a .290 career hitter. His skills eroded quickly afterward as he only hit .239 from that point til his retirement. I don’t see what would made anyone giggle about that. You’re tiptoeing in TMarino territory now. But your free to your opinions, and free to root for whomever you want to. Taunting the opinions of the rest of us and besmirching the players is a disappointing aspect…”
“Tequila, whatever you do, DO NOT giggle as I reply to this Post. Apparently, it pisses him off…??? Tequila did I hear you giggling…???”
I will try and reply to your above Post using mostly Facts, Reality & the Truth:
--FACT: Regardless of what you might think of me (your opinion = NOT A FACT), I am an Avid Yankee Fan…however, being such, does not mean I need to Go/Become STUPID‼! --FACT: In regards to my comments about the Yankees they are mostly (not all) based on Facts-Reality-The Truth. That is what a Smart Fan does… --FACT: Your comment about “besmirching the players is a disappointing aspect…” WELL, If you can handle THE TRUTH = What the biggest disappointing aspects are: No WS appearances for over 10-years –Yet they keep taking the same/similar actions and making the same/similar decisions year after year, YET EXPECTING BETTER RESULTS‼! --FACT: I am far from being alone in ‘besmirching players’ = Every poster on this Forum has done such (but I guess that is OK??? Unless it is Me & Tequila doing such???); plus, even CC did such, just the other day, as well as other Ex-Yanks have. You should go to other Yankee Forums to read what OTHER AVID FANS say about the Yankees and their Players. --FACT: Your comment about my betting against the Yankees has us shaking our heads in total disbelief = If I had bet on the Yankees for the last ten years = I would have been a Stupid Fan; worst yet, a Very Stupid Bettor and Much, Much, Much Poorer. Thank GOD I bet using Facts, the Truth and Reality. NOTE: Betting on a consisted losing team (not going to WS), does NOT make one a good fan; instead, a _____________________‼! --FACT: When comparing Tex’s numbers, awards, etc. to Mr. David Ortiz’s = It is not even, even, even close. Like Night & Day. --FACT: Mr. Ortiz is going to the HOF and Tex will NEVER be in the HOF. --FACT: Tex was asked once why he doesn’t hit to the opposite field or bunt, etc with runners on base? His reply, was “I am a Power Hitter…” Notice THE I PART—all about him (not the team). Sorry, Tex, Mr. Ortiz was a Power Hitter. --FACT: Well maybe more of an Opinion: If the Yankees had P-U Mr. Ortiz in 2003, don’t you think WE would have gone to more WS and even won more WS???
--FACT: You even USED the tactic of: “You’re tiptoeing in TMarino territory now.” OH MY GOD, PLEASE NO, GOD HELP US—HAVE MERCY ON US—what should WE do (Run Tequila to the Bunker, for we are in TMarino Territory) What is next (Sending us to HELL)???
Tequila has some thoughts that may help you: --"Go back to bed and try to get a good night’s sleep. This time when you wake-up, PLEASE get out of bed on the Right Side, not the Wrong Side of bed. --PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,Take your Poop Pills—your Post sounded like you were all stuffed up (giggles… a whole lot of giggles).”

"Tex was asked once why he doesn’t hit to the opposite field or bunt, etc with runners on base? His reply, was “I am a Power Hitter…”
Tex's hardheadedness regarding hitting toward the opposite field was maddening. He was totally shut down by extreme shifts, and rather than adapt, Tex doubled down, attempting to pull everything, which lead to his head bobbing up and down and a lack of balance. Had he kept his head still and his hands inside the ball on pitches away, he would have produced better offensively without any sacrifice in power.
Having said that, David Ortiz was a hot-head, a terrible defensive player, and was popped for PEDs in the 2003 Mitchell Report, along with Jason Giambi, Andy Pettitte, Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez, Sammy Sosa, and Barry Bonds. The screening results led to the league's first PED testing program.
After the 2003 Mitchell Report story leaked, Andy Pettitte called a press conference and stated that he used HGH on two occasions, while rehabbing from injury. Giambi finally admitted to using HGH and PEDs during a Grand Jury testimony. Sammy Sosa also admitted to using HGH and PEDs and encouraged everyone who used them to simply admit it. Even Manny Ramirez admitted to using PEDs. ARod finally admitted to using PEDs after he was caught multiple times. Mark McGuire admitted that he used PEDs in 2010. Glen Allen Hill admitted to using PEDS, as did Randy Velarde, Randy Brown, Eric Gagne, Brian Roberts, and so many others. The only active MLB player who made himself available for questioning by George Mitchell was The Big Hurt, Frank Thomas. Barry Bonds, Curt Shilling, and two others refused.
Ortiz' response to his being named on the report for failing the drug testing was to blame the Yankees. Ortiz promised that he would get to the bottom of being "falsely accused" and clear his name. We're still waiting to hear back from him since 2007. Ortiz, Bonds, and Clemens have continued to deny using PEDs. To me, until they confess, they should not be in the Hall of Fame. It's a travesty.
I have little doubt that Tex would have put up monster numbers had he used HGH, steroids, and other PEDs, much like David Ortiz.

I don't think Mattingly career numbers merit the hall.
I think bonds and Clemens should be on the permanent ineligible list for sustained use of PED.

David Ortiz in his Final Season at Age 40: 38HRS--127RBI--169HITS--BA .315--48 2B--SLG .620--OPS 1.021
WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! We have players on OUR team (Sluggers) that are so much younger and may never hit these type of numbers again (injuries, age, bad habits, etc.).
Is David Ortiz breaking the Baseball Hall of Fame's DH stigma or transcending it?
...The gregarious postseason hero known as Big Papi is the only candidate trending toward potential induction in the ballots already made public, as tracked by Ryan Thibodaux and company.
In his first year on the ballot, Ortiz stands out as a bellwether of several hot button Hall of Fame issues.
One is murky steroid suspicion — his only link to performance-enhancing drugs comes via a reported positive test during early MLB survey testing, which was supposed to be anonymous and may have been untrustworthy.
...David Ortiz is the Mariano Rivera of the DH
Much as Mariano Rivera’s unprecedented greatness quashed any of the usual questions over the value of a relief pitcher, Ortiz isn’t just a DH. He’s the DH. --------------------------------------------------------- Alex Rodriguez's Hall of Fame career tainted by PED questions, suspension.

Far too many baseball players identified on the Mitchell Report provided admission of guilt later for it to be deemed “untrustworthy.” Manny Ramirez batting fourth behind Ortiz was caught as well. The difference: Ramirez later admitted to his guilt in using PEDs. Bonds and Clemens never failed a test, but the evidence of their purchasing PEDs is relatively clear. This indicates the masking agents were ahead of MLB’s testing at that time. Too many Roid Rages for Ortiz. Rivera is the only person in the history of the Hall of Fame to be chosen unanimously. Ortiz and Mariano should not be in the same sentence together.

Licking Ortiz’ jock strap is a nasty habit… Who cares what he did at forty if he was taking the Jamba Juice? The changes in his physique were the closest to those of Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa of anyone else in the game…It’s pretty obvious what he is…
