.280 = good hitter .271 = can’t hit at all Missed it by THAT much, Chief … Ignoring that you chose 1 of the 3 people we traded for, I am not sure where the .271 came from. None of the threads I saw on this trade used that number. Kiner-Falefa hit .271 last season and .280 in 2020. In his last 216 games, he has 231 hits. He just doesn’t hit many home runs, which is why he strains to get near a .700 OPS.

Nothing says this is just a job like the look on the face of Josh Donaldson. Ugh, I miss Urshela already. Is that Cashman pushing his luggage?

Rizz has already explained to you that K-F hit .271 last year and .280. Not all numbers appear in the threads only, big daddy. Put your numbers hat on…

From Yes Network on Kiner-Falefa:
“ Last season the 5’11”, 190-pound infielder led Texas in games played, hits, triples (tied), stolen bases (20), multi-hit games (44), and three-plus hit games (16) as the club’s primary shortstop. He also finished with career highs in several offensive categories including home runs, RBI and stolen bases. He also had the highest batting average among Rangers’ qualifiers, while leading Major League Baseball with 136 singles.”

I feel like we should be more excited about Kiner-Falefa. Maybe I just had that Pipedream of Matt Olson in my head for too long, even though I already posted of the unlikely nature of Billy Beane to trade with the Yankees unless he emptied our minor leagues of top talent. I really thought Gleyber, Voit, Peraza, and Medina might get it done.

I was thinking of the exact same scenario --maybe their choice of either Peraza or Sweeney. As it stands right now, DJLM is either the starting first baseman or the utility IFer he was originally signed as. If Rizzo is signed, that blocks any full time slot for him. If Freeman is signed or Olson acquired, I don't care about any of that stuff.

I closed the book on Sandwich 🥪 when he couldn’t figure out the reason he wasn’t starting in the playoffs after hitting .160 and leading the league in passed balls and errors behind the dish. We’ve heard of the concept of a wide receivers’ memory; Gary has the memory of a fruit fly. Vaya con Dios, Señor Tortas! Don’t let the ricochet from the backstop hit you in the culo. Pendejo.

Sterling will be burning the midnight oil to come up with a home run call on the off-chance Rortvedt hits one out.

If Freeman is signed or Olson acquired, I don't care about any of that stuff. I thought it might, as Oakland needs a second baseman for the last few years, a replacement at first if they trade Olson, a young pitcher that throws 100 mph, and a shortstop who could start for Oakland right now. All reasonably priced and controllable, just as the Athletics prefer to operate. With Donaldson’s injury history (though he played 135 games last season), our call up Cabrera is the utility guy and DJLM goes back to his gold glove position at second base. Unfortunately, it has been crickets from my Yankee brethren and perhaps the same with Billy Beane. Beane, I suspect, would sink the state of Florida to prevent the Yankees from getting a decent price on a beach timeshare.

Maybe Gleybar going to Oakland is the next move for Olson. I feel like it's just going to be Rizzo and or Voit instead. Which is not terrible but they really degraded at catcher now and I don't think they will upgrade that. Higgy prob could get 10-15 hr over a whole season but Sanchez even through the struggles def had potential of double that. Andujar still is on this team Yankees really must not think much of him to take on 50 mil of often injured Donaldson instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Don’t underestimate Higgy’s pop. He has his faults, low average, low OBP, but he has 20 HR in 387 career ab. Regular playing time might help him gain some ba points, and he started drawing a few walks toward the second half of last year. As a catcher, if he can hit 20-25 homers and play good to above defense, he fine for me…Though there still is room to upgrade if we find the right catcher on the market some how…
