Well that was a very annoying game with all those runners left on base. But i'll take the series win. McBroom sheds a solitary tear.

Three strikeouts in the bottom of the ninth ends it for the Yankees. Hicks leaves six men on base, Gallo four, Torres four, and Donaldson four. That trio of Gallo, Torres, and Hicks left fourteen on base. That's the difference in the game. The good news is the Yankees had eleven hits and four walks. Fifteen base runners but three for eleven with RISP. Yankees again let the sweep elude them.

I built an excel chart to show the Yankees versus the rest of the Al for the last ten years (when a better comparison would have been the teams that spent say in the top five). But it won't let me post it here, so I guess I can't make my point.

The Yankees cannot afford another half of baseball from Gallo like he had last season. He may just not be able to play in New York. It's only one series, but Gallo was an all-star. The watch continues.

2020: 4th in runs scored in MLB 2019: 1st in runs scored in MLB 2018: 2nd in runs scored in MLB 2017: 2nd in runs scored in MLB

How many times in the last ten years have we batted in the top 5 in batting average. Despite spending fortunes. One of our facts are frustrating its not me. 2020: 4th in runs scored in MLB 2019: 1st in runs scored in MLB 2018: 2nd in runs scored in MLB 2017: 2nd in runs scored in MLB
Don't tell me batting average is more important than runs scored.
B- A- T- T- I- N- G- A- V- E- R- A -G -E There is a reason we never end up in WS. We can't hit the ball to save our life. And as long as we are below the league average in hitting not home runs we will never get there.
