I keep doing all I can to educate you… 😂 Noetsi has already spent like 30 years in school. He's been educated enough! I spent way to long in school for sure. If anyone wants to buy a graduate degree cheap I will sell them one of mine. Particularly the one in statistics that is a total waste...

It drains the common sense right out of your brain. Imagine 30 years in school to then work a 15- year career into retirement? … I had no idea life could be lived that way…

Particularly the one in statistics that is a total waste... What is funny is the pay Boone fortunes to...bring a guy who walked the bases loaded the other night while getting no outs in a situation with the bases loaded. Unless the goal was to lose, I don't get that logic. Maybe someone else can explain it.

Teach them the wonders of advanced stats like batting average! 😉

Academics are surprisingly inflexible. They create rules and they stick to them regardless. Economist may be the worse at that, as even economist admit. This is made worse in baseball by the fact tht what they called statistics is not. Real statistics validates their approach and applies multivariate analysis which I have yet to see in any discussion of baseball "statistics." No real statistician would consider sabermetrics statistics.

This team can't do anything right. This sounds too familiar

It is because we have the same GM. Nothing will change until he gets fired. Its not coincidence we are the same, we were put together the exact same way in the past. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing and expect different results. Yeah, I saw nothing in the way of GM moves over the winter that would lead to a belief that the Yankees are better than last year. And Boone is still the manager. Hoo Boy (sigh)

I hope results over time will prove me wrong but I see nothing about the team position wise that is better than last year. We still can't hit with RISP and we still strike out an insanely number of times. I have been a Yankee fan(don't pretend to be an expert) for 60 years but the moves we made this off season, except ditching Sanchez, absolutely made no sense to me from the standpoint of making this team a championship contender. My frustration began last year when the Yankees acquired Gallo. Then we go in this year thinking Hicks and Gallo would suddenly become hitters when long history says otherwise. Hope I am wrong.

Joey Gallo is now hitting .160 as a Yankee in 212 AB's. I wonder where Boone will have him in the lineup today? Cleanup?

Sorry, guys. I fell asleep again. Ever since Kaybli's fast, it's been hard for me to stay awake. I know that sounds impossible, but so is batting average being more important than scoring runs. But, it's been stated so many times, it must be true.

It’s rather unfortunate that this season has started of with poor clutch hitting and a penchant for hitting into DPs and loud outs. It does make for the appearance of a lackluster team out of the gate.
We’ll be better for a full season of Rizzo at first base, as well as at bat. We’ll improve once second base becomes a settled position. I still expect an under-performance from Torres this year, leading to a mid-season trade. A full time diet of DJ with restored health will be a plus there.
Kiner Falefa is just getting his Yankee legs under him. He may not be the SS of everyone’s dreams, but he’ll help sure up the infield defense and his wheels will be helpful.
Donaldson looks like he can still play over at third.
As for Gallo, yeah. I’m getting nervous, too. If Texas Joey is still in there and can emerge, his power bat and 40 dingers can come in handy. If not, in a month or so we might get another look at Florial. A longer look.
Hicks is a worn out nag. If Gallo doesn’t give Florial some room to make the team, maybe Hicks will.
Can we allow Judge to play Center AND right and bat twice in the line up? No? Shucks… This sport just doesn’t innovate.
Higgy got it backwards and started off too fast in the spring.
Stanton looks as good as ever, which he usually does until he gets a hangnail…
Boone appears to be willing to let the starters pitch up to five full innings this year. We might even get a couple double digit winners out of this rotation.
Deep and strong bullpen.
Blue Jays Rays Yankees (playoffs? We just want to win today) Red Sox Oh-Rioles
We could pass Tampa. They need pitching.
But I do think the early RISP and DP tendencies to be random samples that will even out over time.

It’s sad. We pay for a TV package so we can spend time we don’t always actually have to spare to watch this team. Then we fall asleep with the game on. Maybe there’s something wrong with the team. More than likely, it’s something wrong with us…
