I was right and wrong. Yaz won the triple crown in 1967, but it was in 1968 that he won a batting title hitting .301, which was the lowest ever. He hit .326 in 1967. I knew Yaz was one of the answers. I thought, maybe Cobb, but he wasn't a HR hitter, but he triple crown anyway! I thought the other one was Frank Robinson. Frank Robinson popped into my head, too. I checked and he was just shy at 2943 hits. |

Was that the year of the pitcher? MLB had to make changes because the pitching was too dominate. The actual stat on Yaz was the lowest ba for a league batting titlist. He hit .301 in ‘68. If I’m not mistaken, Frank Robinson’s .316 is the lowest BA for a triple crown in ‘66. Yaz hit .326 in ‘67… So Robinson did win a triple crown, but he was 57 hits short of 3,000. |

Stealing third with no one out is a bad play… unless it works… Stanton in One of his funks… Big difference when Stanton is hot and it's the first inning, as opposed to Stanton being cold and it's a one run lead in the eighth inning. Instead of two outs with a man on third; Rizzo scores on what would have been the second out, drawing the throw home. |

Hard to believe it was that long ago that Cabrera was a rookie winning the World Series with the Florida Marlins in 2003. If Boone was the Tiger's manager, Cabrera would get an off day tomorrow.
