When Miguel Cabrera deliver's his 3000th hit, he will join a rare club of 3000 hits and 500 home runs. Only two other players in that category I heard on the radio today. Six other players:
Hank Aaron 3,771 hits 755 HRs
Albert Pujols 3,308 hits 681 HRs
Willie Mays 3,283 hits 660 HRs
Eddie Murray 3,255 hits 504 HRs
Alex Rodriguez 3,155 hits 696 HRs
Rafael Palmeiro 3,020 hits 569 HRs
Military service cost Ted Williams a chance to be on that list and Ruth would have been on too if he wasn't a pitcher during most of his Red Sox career. |
