Before he turned 30, Jr. had two seasons with 56 HRs one with 49, one with 48 and one with 45. After age 30, he only had one season with more than 30.

I should have known Eddie Mathews. He had a great start but was considered something of a disappointment because he finished with "only" 511 HRs.
