Five players with 370 homers before age 30. Mel Ott. Jimmie Foxx. Mickey? I'm surprised Mel Ott wasn't on the list. Yeah, he started very early. I'm going to check on that.

I should have known Eddie Mathews. He had a great start but was considered something of a disappointment because he finished with "only" 511 HRs. Slight correction. It was 512 HRs. Shouldn't do top of the head stuff.

Bad pass from Judge. Butt sticking out, flailing bat, bent over like he's picking strawberries.

Bad pass from Judge. Butt sticking out, flailing bat, bent over like he's picking strawberries. That sounds like a Red Barber saying.

Before he turned 30, Jr. had two seasons with 56 HRs one with 49, one with 48 and one with 45. After age 30, he only had one season with more than 30. The Reds didn't do get much back with their investment in Jr. They are still paying him...

I miss the Gotta Go to Mo's sign. Was there a Crazy Eddie sign? Or was that just a sponsor? I remember the Ballantine scoreboard and signs for Winston Cigarettes and Botany 500. In so many pictures of old ballparks you see signs for Gem Blades. I have no idea when they stopped making those. Also Lifebuoy Soap.
