I see Nigel Bruce was the son of Sir William and Lady Angelica Bruce. He was born in Ensenada Mexico while his parents were in the midst of a world tour. Very tasteful! During prohibition, that was the place to frequent for the Hollywood set et al for alcohol and gambling. |

Other kids: “Don’t screw with the Ingerson kids. They have old Gumbys.” Reminds me of one kid in the neighborhood I got warned not to fight with by guys that had fought him. They said he’d bite you “anywhere”. Especially “there”. I’ll be nice and not say where, but it was definitely a place you didn’t want to be bitten… or kicked. Which he would also do… |

My Great Uncle Charlie was arrested there in the early 20s for operating an illegal establishment (i.e. not bribing the right people.) He only spent one night in jail but had to beat it out. He went to Vera Cruz and started a newsletter for American oil men there. One of his clients was William F. Buckley Sr. He was WAY more interesting than me. On that note I have to run. Later amigos. |
