😂. BUT… Are we hitting .275? That’s the magic number, you know… I think he might have left because of naughty talk again. “Cleaning his house” was euphemistic… so was “going shopping”… Like Doc Holliday said after outgunning Johnny Ringo “Poor thing. He was just too nervous”… He'll be back. This place is like The Hotel California. You can check out anytime you like...... but you can never leave! MrG777 and Utah Yank are not coming back…

MrG777 and Utah Yank are not coming back… They are here in spirit! You’re so right. It’s strange that some posters, even in the afterlife are still a part of the conversation. Some that to the best of out knowledge are still living are still remarked upon. Karl. Marino. Some memories are fond. Some not. But they are memories nonetheless. Then, others that went away, and some were fine contributors, are mostly forgotten. I guess it’s something about the posting style that gets certain people into one category or the other. I was just thinking about boreifs yesterday. I can’t remember a single post ofc the top of my head, but I know I used to like to talk with him. POOF! I don’t remember why he left. Angry? Tired of posting? Hope he’s still well…

For Noetsi: We are now 3rd in the AL in the only stat that matters. Not runs, not wins, but batting average! That is awesome. We are stealing bases too. Now we just need to find someone to replace Donaldson and free of us of the terrible Stanton contract. That will end up being the worse decision of the Cashman era. Although in fairness he could not know that Stanton would not be the player he was. Its the danger with huge long term contracts.

MrG777 and Utah Yank are not coming back… Well that is sadly true Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I did not know Utah had died. Mr G and I were about as far a part as it is possible to be in our philosophy. The ultimate optimist and pessimist. I remember a number of posters over the years. I rarely can remember their names, my memory is strange. Joeseadog and a Japanese poster, chucktheblade , Mitch(and of course Trane) are the ones I remember most.

At 91, he was on a dune buggy expedition in the wilds of Southern Utah or northern Arizona. Hit with an apparent stroke, it took his group three days to reach a location where they could get him help via radio. He made it to the hospital, but his time was up. If only we had heard that he had killed a cougar or a bear with his bare hands the day before, it might have been the perfect passing…

I believe Jacoby Elsbury is atop the trophy for the worst Cashman decision. Stanton"s numbers were solid last season, and he has been one of the few offensive forces to show up in the post season. In 2020, we came very close to beating the Rays in the division playoffs because of Stanton and his 1.381 OPS during that five-game series. I'll still never forgive Boone for that silly opener crap in Game 2 with Deivi Garcia and Jay Happ. Stanton drove in four of the five runs the Yankees scored in that game.

He has not been on the Yankees IMHO any way. A good player when he can play. But not an elite one. The Elsbury deal was for a few years. Stanton's is forever.

The Yankees received $30 million from the Marlins after Stanton opted into his contract last year for the years 2021-2027 (seven years, $218 million). Factor in that $30 million, and it's actually a seven-year, $188 million contract, bringing it to a $26.86 million AAV. Sure he's making $29M a year but no one said he's a HOF player. He will be a free agent in 2027 (37 years old). There are a lot of other players making more than Staton who will also never be HOF players. Staton's contract is a steal in today's market.
