It's hard to complain when the team is 27-9 and off to one of the greatest starts in its history (the 1927 Yankees were 24-12, the 1936 Yankees were 25-11, the 1953 Yankees were 25-11, the 1961 Yankees were 20-16, the 1977 Yankees were 20-16, the 1998 Yankees were 27-9.) So obviously an awful lot is going right even compared to some of the greatest teams the Yanks have ever fielded. But I still hate this rest business!! It just seems insane, and I don't think the Yankees' great start is because their players have to sit every week or so. I seriously doubt that Stanton is tired. I want to see their best lineup out there every day. |

The Yankees had this same rest philosophy last season when the barely got into the playoffs and were forced to play a one game winner take all at Fenway.
