Had to run out and eat tonight. Not going to bother with Apple TV. No cell phone at the new lot, unless I have it where I’m planning to build. It’s that way a lot in the foothills of the Rockies… That's terrible news. No cell phones? So we're going to lose you on the forum? I had planned to announce my retirement from the forum upon my 30,000th post. It’s just time. Then I changed my mind. We’ll still have internet, from what I understand, so I can go back to computer posting. It may reduce my game a bit, maybe not. The lifestyle there is an important medicine for me. I’ll most likely have to shutter my business, or might find another solar company to sell leads for. I’m considering attempting to do something with Biotekt, the company that builds the houses, but I fear the commitment they would want would be too severe. If I can adjust our budget, full retirement coukd be in reach, but I’m not so sure I can pull that off. Plus, I do like getting out. But with gasoline prices what they are, the profitability of door to door sales is becoming so poor… No, there is not much chance I’ll be leaving the forum. I’ll likely withdraw from game threads, but I didn’t do them for many years… BTW: The lifestyle? Dark skies community Very little traffic Deer tracks in the yard Elk tracks in the yard Quiet. So quiet. Seldom hits 90 degrees in summer. Most of the 8 feet of snow there falls in spring/autumn. Even the winter snow doesn’t last at average 40 degrees with plenty of sunshine. Little traffic Dirt/gravel roads One poverty stricken town nearby w/grocery store One very pretty little mountain community nearby Our favorite Mexican Restaurant about 20 minutes away (Whoever thought I’d have a favorite Mexican Restaurant?) Less dust, less wind, less crime, way less traffic. I’m quite excited by the whole thing, along with this alternative build that will actually put us within the arms of nature, she who is the closest I know to god…

Judge lollygagging out of the box leads to an out at second. Even in laughers, it's maddening not to play the right way.

Strikeout to end the inning for Banuelos. That guy has been all over the globe in two hemispheres working his way back. Bravo to Banuelos!

Hopefully that might work here. They tell me the guy that connects the water lines here is very knowledgeable about what works best, can hook us up with the best of Internet, TV, etc.. The area is also on the verge of getting broadband due to his efforts along with some other folks in the development. I’ve never liked developments, but I’ve never seen one so spread out as this one, either. My near term may be reduced posting while I get packed up around here and make some important arrangements to get our temporary “housing” together. I plan on leasing a construction trailer to shack up in. Much cheaper than an RV, but I’ll need to get it permitted… gulp… if that fails… we’ll see. I always get odd ideas, you know…

I understand the no traffic, quiet, and nature - I just do not like snow. The cold is fine for me, until it gets in the teens or twenties below zero. Anything above zero degrees, I don't even need much of a heater. I lose weight in that climate without even trying.
Elk is supposedly the best tasting red meat there is. And, harvesting just one will keep you stocked for a year or more. Just need a freezer or an old time root cellar to store it.
Also, I like sunsets on the horizon. Sheer drops off cliff roads ruin driving for me, as a clutch the steering wheel like I'm holding a wolf by the ears.
Gas prices are awful. I'm thinking about moving to Dallas closer to where I work, so I don't have to keep gassing up for 100 bucks so often. Right now, I'm a little over thirty miles away, which isn't bad until you get into Dallas traffic, which still is no where near as bad as California traffic. Greta is getting so old, I don't want to uproot her again, though. And, I would need a first floor situation for her, too, which are difficult to come by.
I like being next to a lake and surrounding by trees where I am, and still have all the stores and restaurants within a ten minute drive. Not that I have frequented many restaurants lately. The apartment complex is nice, too. Pretty much all professional people who keep to themselves and enjoy peace and quiet. And, I've got a huge soaking tub for my weekend bubble baths!

Are Kaybli and I the only ones who live in the NYC tristate area on this whole forum?

Are Kaybli and I the only ones who live in the NYC tristate area on this whole forum? I'm afraid so, Anthony. The others closest to you are Pipps in Pennsylvania and Desousa in Vermont. Then, Renfield in North Carolina.
