The entire pregame show today on the Cubs broadcast was devoted to Rizzo, he's more popular in Chicago than any current Cub, except maybe Wilson Contreras. Rizzo was not just a ballplayer for Cubs' fans, he was a source of joy - always jawing with players at first base and keeping things light in the clubhouse and dugout. They embraced him so fondly, I couldn't believe he was part of the purge. Contreras was actually the player I wanted the Yankees to get to replace Sandwich. But, I'm happy with Rizzo manning first base. I still wouldn't mind having Contreras. But I can't see the Yanks meeting the price. |

I am sure Rizz knows about Mike Miley, who is no relation to Wade as far as I know. LSU QB who played SS for the Angels and was tragically killed in an auto accident in 1977 before his 24th birthday.
I remember him playing QB for LSU in the 1974 Orange Bowl against Penn State.
