Good at bat from Carpenter. Too bad he can't play left field. How bad can he be? They played Andujar out there. Andujar has much younger legs, and he's turned into a serviceable fielder since he thinned down to increase his range.

Was going back and forth between the game and "Bad Lieutenant" (for my podcast). I finished the movie right before the bottom of the 7th. Timing is everything. I saw that movie a while back when I was binging classic crime movies. Harvey Keitel gave a real menacing performance but the movie didn't make much of an impression with me as I don't remember much about it right now. What did you think of it? I saw it when it first came out in 1992 and didn't really like it. I thought more of it this time mainly because of I appreciated Keitel's performance on a higher level. Not many A list actors ( maybe Christopher Walken) would have gone to the levels of emotional and physical depravity that his character lead him to. As far as the film itself, I felt like I was watching a man trapped in a death spiral of his own making and there was only going to be one outcome. It wasn't story telling in a classic sense, but more like one man's nightmare with all it's craziness on full display. The writer/director Abel Ferrara is also mostly known for his film "The King of New York", with Walken. A very similar themed film that like BL cast New York City with all it's grittiness as a supporting actor. After Keitel's nude scene in this and The Piano the following year, a friend of mine wanted to name his band "Full Frontal Harvey", but his bandmates didn't get the joke. The show's theme this week is "Bad Cops" and we paired it with a Korean film called "A Hard Day". Can't wait to watch it today as I've fallen in love with the Korean film industry. My pod partner Adam spent many years teaching in Korea, so he has had me watch many really good, if not great Korean films.

I'm not an expert on Korean films, but have you seen Oldboy? Talk about a disturbing twist!
