We seem to complete a lot more DPs in the field than last year… And, much better double plays.

We seem to complete a lot more DPs in the field than last year… With less opportunities too.

Lou Gehrig's first ten years: .342/.442/.636/1.078 181 OPS+ My goodness what a monster line. He was just otherworldly from the get-go. When he was 17 he played in a high school tournament in Chicago and hit a ball out of Wrigley Field. Lou was one of a kind.

It always ends with The Babe: Ruth's first ten years: .351/.482/.712/1.195 218 OPS+ But he wasn't human. Unfair comparison.

I’m thinking, that the atmosphere of the early game made it easier for the great players to stand out, and to present with huge numbers. The overall quality of play was probably not as good. That that make any sense at all?
Smaller population, smaller pool of players to draw from. No Latinos, no blacks. The game not fully evolved…

Gallo is due for something to go right.

Gallo is due for something to go right. Maybe not.

I'm not even supporting Gallo anymore. Just want him to do bad so he's gone as soon as possible.

Another BS strike on Judge. And here comes Boone.

That that make any sense at all? Smaller population, smaller pool of players to draw from. No Latinos, no blacks. The game not fully evolved… Of course, the obverse could be argued: fewer teams, fewer players, fewer distractions, fewer athletic endeavors to choose from, no expansion blips, cavernous gaps and centerfield fences.

Gallo is due for something to go right. Gallo does what he does best; strikeout

Another BS strike on Judge. And here comes Boone. Boone should be doing this for Judge every few games and presenting the MLB front office with mountain of video and analytical evidence. Send a message, since Judge is too classy to intimidate the umps, like say Teddy Ballgame.

The game not fully evolved… Smaller pool, but also fewer players in the majors, so maybe not so disproportionate in that sense. I do think the gap between the average player and the greatest players has diminished over the years in all sports. All we can do is judge their performance according to the conditions they played under.

I'm not even supporting Gallo anymore. Just want him to do bad so he's gone as soon as possible. It's farcical by now. He doesn't even look like he belongs in the big leagues. I feel badly for him, but he is a deadweight in the lineup. Hicks isn't much better.
