Shorter scouting report on Minor from reddit:
well, yesterday sucked. however the yanks and we fans have to move on. They will face lefty Mike Minor (another great baseball name btw). He owns a 6.63 ERA over 38 IP this season. I am really busy from today until Friday. This is why today, and the next 2 breakdowns are going to be a little shorter. But i bet there are others in this sub who take interest in these kind of stats. So i will be giving you the Baseball Savant Page and the Baseball Reference Page and encourage everybody to dig a little deeper themselves. Some short nuggets i could find: Minor throws a 4sm Fastball (almost 50%) and a slider and changeup (each 22%) and some Curveballs. Compared to last night they are a lot slower.
Similiar to last ashcraft last night, players do make a lot of contact with Mike Minors Pitches (bottom 20% in whiff rate). But additionally he also walks more people than ashcraft.
His xERA (4.70) suggests that Mike Minor has been getting unlucky, or simply has to play in the worst ballpark for Pitchers in Cincinnati. So isnt quite as bad as his actual ERA would leave you to believe.
In his last two outings he has given up 2 and 4 runs, which isnt great, but that is about as good as he gets. He hasnt had a outing with fewer than 2 runs allowed this year. But he "makes up" for it by going 2/3 into games, usually he goes 6.0 IP. Thats it for today. Another starter which the yanks should square up in theory, but these last few games have me questioning anything!

lol at Carpenter still on the bench. I guess they don't trust him at all in Yankee Stadium LF.

No Carpenter again. It's personal with Boone. No other explanation.

lol at Carpenter still on the bench. I guess they don't trust him at all in Yankee Stadium LF. He’s not exactly a gazelle out there. He’s steady, but that’s a big left field. In that regard I would feel comfortable with Benintendi out there. He’s not a gazelle either, but he knows what he’s doing…

lol at Carpenter still on the bench. I guess they don't trust him at all in Yankee Stadium LF. And he's facing the lefty. That's the excuse.

lol at Carpenter still on the bench. I guess they don't trust him at all in Yankee Stadium LF. They do have options. They could DH Carpenter and bench someone else. Carpenter is raking right now.

If they keep him out long enough, he'll lose his momentum. It seems ridiculous to me to bench your hottest hitter, but Boone's been doing this ever since they got him.

It looked to me as though Torres had time to freeze India at third before throwing to first. Not good baseball there. He froze the runner at second, but the guy at third became a run…
