Well, I suppose German and Schmidt might just be replacing Severino and Taillon. Taillon to the bullpen and Sevy back on the IL. Ugh - why am I thinking the worst? Sevy's history justifies thinking the worst.

IKF - "the fastest Yankee" Okay, boys and girls, who was the fastest Yankee? Is this a trick question? Home to first Mantle. Running the basepaths Deion Sanders. I guess. Good one…

The Reds announcer called IKF "the fastest Yankee." I just realized you all would be watching the YES broadcast. I've switched over now.

IKF - "the fastest Yankee" Okay, boys and girls, who was the fastest Yankee? Probably Rickey. He knew what to do with his speed at least… He was certainly the best base-stealer. I'm not sure if he could beat Bernie in 100 yard dash, though. Bern Baby Bern was a track star in Puerto Rico.

Is this a trick question? Home to first Mantle. Running the basepaths Deion Sanders. I guess. I watched Neon Deion up close several times when he was with the Columbus Clippers before the Yankees called him up. It was jaw-dropping to see how fast he rounded the bases. On the other hand nobody has ever been timed going home to first faster than Mick. He just exploded coming out of the box. And he was an outstanding drag bunter and showed it several times a year before his legs just got too beat up.

Another college track star.
