Scouting report on Bubic from reddit:
Well, they won, but the bats are still sleeping. Today they will face Kris Bubic, a lefty with a 5.53 ERA in 68.1 IP this Season.
Some nuggets about the man:
Bubic throws 3 Pitches: Fastball (50%), Changeup (30%), and Curveball (20%). While these percentages stay about the same for righties he faces, against lefties he cant throw the changeup as much and he just throws the 4SM Fastball more. His Curveball does move more than the average Curveball in MLB, his Change and Fastball do not.
His 4sm is graded as one of the worst Pitches in Baseball this year (11th worst). This is interesting because last year that pitch was graded way above average in a full mlb season. So i dont know if the Royals Pitch staff messed that one up or opposing batters just figured him out.
His splits are odd. Bubic, a lefty, is facing 75% righty batters, which isnt odd or rare. But then you look at the allowed OPS against lefties and righties and you have to ask yourself why managers are running so many righty heavy lineuos against the guy: allowed OPS vs RHB: .717, vs LHB: 1.178. He has a better SO/Walk ratio against righties and all his triple slash Numbers are higher. I am really looking forward to the broadcast tonight to figure out why lefties are not being used against him, its not like that Curveball is extremely good or the changeup is so bad that you have to take advantage of it. Maybe one of you guys could give me an explanation. The only thing i maybe could argue is the low amount of PA from lefties (76) so that there is a statistical inaccuracy.
Bubic may have really bad stats and all underlying numbers suggest they are for real, but he is coming off his 2 best starts of the year. Back to Back 7 IP with 0 and 2 ER. So maybe Bubic found himself.
Bubic has pitched against the yanks this season. He went 5 IP with 3 ER on Back to Back Rizzo and Stanton Homers in the first Inning.
Bubic may have had 2 good starts, but i think the yanks should take advantage off him anyways and awake those bats.

CHI - Boone does not know what the best available lineup is. His analytical advisors give him the names and he just creates a lineup...smh

It's like they forgot what the DH slot is for.

Apparently Donaldson hits Bubic well (2 HRs) but I always wonder in such a small sample size (11 ABs) does it really matter?

Against LHP Carp is .379/.471/.966!

The carp will come out after dark. That’s when they bite best…

This statistics are too advanced for Boone to follow.

How many more ways does Judge have to show he's the MVP?

I don't think anyone else in baseball could have made that play. He needed every inch of 6'7".
