Just figure I use this thread for Judge stats as he goes to try and break the record of 61 HR and win the MVP so its all in one place and not buried in other threads. Aaron Judge now has a .407 OBP and an OPS of 1.090 as well as back over 300 at a .301 average. AL Ranks: He leads in Runs 110 ---- 2nd Bregman 82 HR 55 --- 2nd Ohtani 33 RBI 118 -- 2nd Ramirez 108 (No one else even has 90 yet) BB 85 -- 2nd Winkler 77 .407 OBP --- 2nd Diaz .397 .683 SLG - 2nd Alvarez .581 1.090 OPS -- 2nd Alvarez .974 Majors Ranks: 110 Runs -- 2nd Betts 105 55 HR -- 2nd Schwarber 36 118 RBI -- 2nd Goldschmidt/Ramirez 108 2nd in walks with 85 behind Soto 117 2nd in OBP with .407 behind Goldschmidt .417 .683 SLG - 2nd Goldschmidt .616 1.090 OPS - 2nd Goldschmidt 1.033 Also saw this on MLB.com So wait a minute you prevent half these guys from being in the HOF, but now they are on the same graphic as Maris and Ruth????

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I give him credit, instead of just swinging for the fences to try to hit HR's, he's taking what the pitchers give and delivering a lot of base hits. Throw in the walks and he's on base all the time.

Jeters thoughts on if judge should being captain
Does Jeter think Judge is a worthy successor?
“I’ve got to know Aaron a little bit over the last, I’d say, three months,” Jeter said. “I don’t know him well, and I think to be fair to answer that question, I feel you find that out by talking to his teammates.
“I watch from afar. He’s a very impressive individual. Just talking to him, he’s impressive. I think to get a fair assessment of that, you just talk to his teammates.”
Teammates have had nothing but rave reviews about Judge, and Jeter has heard that as well, so it’s safe to say Jeter believes the Yankee slugger is a good choice to take on the illustrious label.
“Everyone speaks glowingly of him,” Jeter said. “So I think that answers your question.”

Have to wonder if this whole "Jeter talking to Judge a lot in the last three months" is part of trying to get the extension done.

Oh I know just the timing is weird that he zoned it into he got to know judge better the last 3 months when Judge has been on the team since 2016. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk There were 5 years during which any discussions Jeter had with Judge might have been considered tampering and may have drawn fines or even banishment for Jeter…

Home sweet home?
The San Francisco Giants are set to swing big in free agency following the season by going after one of their native sons.
USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports the Giants will target New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, who rejected a seven-year, $213.5 million contract before Opening Day and will hit the open market after the 2022 World Series.
The San Francisco Giants are another team who vows to spend big money in the offseason, with just $96.5 million on the books next year. They would love to grab one of the prized shortstops on the market if they can’t land the big fish, Aaron Judge.
Judge is having a walk season for the ages. He leads Major League Baseball with 55 home runs and 121 RBI.
ESPN projects Judge will hit 63 home runs this season, which would set a new club and American League records, which are currently held by Roger Maris, who hit 61 home runs in 1961.
Judge, a Bay Area native, recently endeared himself to the Giants when he recognized Barry Bonds’ 73 home runs in 2001 as the “legitimate” single-season home run record.
“Oh, yeah,” Judge said. “That’s the record. I watched him do it. I stayed up late watching him do it. That’s the record. No one can take that from him.”
Want to bet on MLB?
When asked about that Wednesday, Judge, a Bay Area native, doubled down, according to the New York Post.
“The record’s the record. That’s what I go by. I watched him as a kid flip the ball into the bay with ease. That hasn’t changed.”
Judge is the leading candidate for American League MVP, but Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani figures to be in the mix.
DO ME'S THOUGHTS I would offer Judge FIVE YEARS at $45 Million = Do NOT want to get stuck with another Stanton, Tex, etc. etc. etc. Would make him highest paid player. Would have a Team only option year of $50m at the end of five years...
