I don’t understand the surname “Lyles”. Sparky was a Lyle, as were a few of my childhood companions. Why must it be necessary to have a plural last name?
It reminds me of a very small postal area near Elkton, MD, that had the moniker of Childs, MD. Why not call it Children, MD?…At least the plural would be correct then…

We have a full season of watching Hicks struggle to reach .200. Now, he gets hot and gets his average up to .220 and Boone finally plants him on the bench. I’m not complaining about the benching, mind you. I’m complaining about all those at bats all season long…

Since coming off the IL, Stanton is 14-97 (.144) with 4 home runs and 41 strikeouts.

Remember the Baltimore Colts had a defensive back Leonard Lyles in the 60s-70s. My memory is not that good… You remember Rich Reese, so it can't be too bad.

Since coming off the IL, Stanton is 14-97 (.144) with 4 home runs and 41 strikeouts. Ouch! I'm wondering if he has a vision issue. That is a horrific stretch. I know he is prone to wild deviations at the plate, but this is an unusually long downslide.
