Kriske-Kreme back from Japan. He didn’t like snails on his plate. Just doughnuts…

Looking at the roster, unless Cash makes a trade the moves will probably come from the pitching staff. May be the end of the road for Deivi Garcia.

Jim Bowden on MLBN Radio: “Yankees really want Benny back problem is the yrs, wants what Yoshida got and can't see the Yankees going there. Most likely they’ll push hard after Reynolds or sign Confroto so a short term deal. Kepler is last resort.”

Were the Yankees worried about Benintendi's wrist? Seems like a reasonable contract comparatively.

I never really warmed up to him. Where did the power go? And that was before the wrist injury. I mean, he was “okay”, but there are better options… maybe even Cabrera… totally agree Me three. I always liked Benintendi's game when he came up with Boston, and he was hitting well with Kansas City when the Yankees got him (although with a severe power loss with both teams -- 5 HRs in 521 PAs.) His batting took a steep nosedive as soon as the Yankees acquired him -- he went from batting .320 with an OBP of .387 and OPS+124 to batting .254, OBP .331 and OPS+ 109 with the Yanks. He did start to pick it up toward the end of the year, but he was nothing special. Solid defense. Admittedly a small sample, but he was looking like one of those guys who can't play in New York. That wrist issue seemed pretty serious and may be what made the Yanks reluctant to go five years and why he was such a relative bargain for the White Sox. We'll find out. The still-available Michael Conforto actually has a better career OBP and OPS+ than Benintendi, and has shown a lot more power. He's coming off a pretty serious shoulder injury that kept him out all of last year, so he would be a risk. He's played all three OF positions, and while probably inferior to Benintendi defensively, I don't recall him ever seeming like a butcher out there. He's just a year older than Benintendi. Maybe worth a short-term prove-it deal if he can be signed for that.

Players usually need at least a year before the power comes back from the injury Benintendi suffered. Then again he would only be making 5 million more than Aaron Hicks. Overall, I won't lost much sleep over losing Benintendi other than the cool photoshops. The Yankees know his medicals better than anyone.
