Brett Gardner’s last year with the Yankees: .222/.327/.362 90 OPS+ Max Kepler last year .227/.318/.348 93 OPS+ Kepler became highly desirable in 2019 when he seemingly broke out at age 26, slamming 36 HR. Now, he looks like an early burnout at soon to be 30. I don’t love him anymore…

Cash move on they are NOT going to trade him... One rival exec calls Pittsburgh’s asking price for Bryan Reynolds “ridiculous.” My suspicion: They don’t want to trade him. …
On Sunday, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that while the Pirates are “willing to entertain” offers for Reynolds, a trade is unlikely, given Pittsburgh’s “exceedingly high” price tag.
One rival official, in what surely was an exaggeration, said the Pirates want a “(Juan) Soto-type package” for Reynolds. Another said Reynolds is “super expensive.” A third described him as “unlikely to move.”

Players usually need at least a year before the power comes back from the injury Benintendi suffered. Then again he would only be making 5 million more than Aaron Hicks. Overall, I won't lost much sleep over losing Benintendi other than the cool photoshops. The Yankees know his medicals better than anyone.
your right Kay. Remember Teix had a similar injury and he wasn't the same. Hicksie too, we saw he couldn't hit the ball out the infield half the time. It didn't effect Godzilla though, he came back looking the same. Different injuries to the wrist but the results vary and are usually not good.

If you were Cash and if the Dodgers Cut Bauer would you sign him for the Yankees???
...The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that with Bauer expected to get a positive ruling in arbitration soon, the fact that his sizable contract will be added back to the Dodgers' payroll has been a major reason for the team’s careful approach to the MLB free-agent market this winter.
“The Dodgers, fearing they might owe tens of millions in salary and luxury-tax penalties if an arbitrator reduces or overturns Trevor Bauer’s two-year suspension, are proceeding with caution this offseason.
They are not unwilling to spend amid the Bauer uncertainty, as evidenced by their addition of Freddie Freeman last March and recent bid for Justin Verlander. But club officials view the roster as deep enough for them to pursue free agents in their usual manner — at their price.”
The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to cut Bauer once he is allowed back into the league. He has one year and $32 million left on the three-year, $102 million deal he signed with the organization before the 2021 season

...It is the second-biggest free agent deal in Cubs history, second only to Jason Heyward’s eight-year, $184MM pact from the 2015-16 offseason.
After the Cubs had spent the last couple of seasons cutting payroll and largely moving into rebuild mode, it is safe to say that the franchise is firmly planning to compete again, given the signings of Swanson, Jameson Taillon, and Cody Bellinger this offseason, as well as the Seiya Suzuki and Marcus Stroman deals last winter.
The Cubs already had a good defensive shortstop in Nico Hoerner, of course, and yet Hoerner’s versatility allowed Chicago to explore multiple options around the diamond. With Swanson now taking over at shortstop and Bellinger also signed as primarily the everyday center fielder, it looks like Hoerner will be spending most of his time at second base. Between Hoerner and Swanson, the Cubs now have one of the very best defensive middle infields in baseball, which will be particularly important in 2023 given the new rules limiting defensive shifts.
