Hypothetical: If Steve Cohen was the Yankees owner, would Juan Soto have been in left-field and Judge in right during the playoffs and for next season? How would that have fixed our left-handed hitting needs?
The Washington Nationals sent Soto and Josh Bell to the San Diego Padres for Robert Hassell (minors), Jarlin Susana (minors), James Wood (minors), CJ Abrams, MacKenzie Gore and Luke Voit. We would not have needed Josh Bell.

Um ... why haven't we pulled the trigger on the deal of a lifetime in Bauer? This is NYC ... there aren't enough brave like-mided people willing to protest in front of the stadium up in the Bronx. We can get past any media hellstorm. In fact, it wouldn't even be news after a few weeks. Social media backlash? WHO CARES. Sign him.

Back in the mid sixties the Orioles had a pitcher tgat eas so goofy, he earned the nickname “Toys in the Attic”. The pitcher, Frank Bertaina, was from all I know a decent young man, and I don’t wish to associate him with this Bauer creep. The nickname would seem to be appropriate for Bauer, though. He’s a bit of an intellectual snob, and seems to be pre-occupied in multiple ways, some on the side of what might be considered creepy. After the time off, I don’t know if he can come back to baseball and be as effective as he once was. Given his proclivities, he could be a huge distraction. Winning is the #1 goal for any team. There have been worse people on the Yankees. I recently posted about Mel Hall and Sergio Mitre. We had Alex. Sometimes there are things more important than winning. At least, to me. I’d rather show support for women than to offer this geeky jerk a platform… |
