Ill-advised trade of a clubhouse and fan favorite, because Sandwich was allowed to wallow in inefficacy until he was devoid of worth. Should have just released Sandwich, kept Urshela, and had 30 million to spend on something other than Donaldson and IKF. Absolutely. There were people saying that even at the time.

Because we all need to know, Gary’s slash with San Francisco’s AAA affiliate this far is .156 .325 .188 .513. He’s 8 for 42, with 1 double and six walks. In an interview right after he signed Sánchez indicated frustration in the lack of interest, citing the improvement in his defensive game in the past couple of seasons. It seems he’s still oblivious… He is a smelt sandwich…

By pitch clock era standards this is a slow-moving game.

Of course it was easy to say in foresight too, but was Cashman listening? Think about it. If you love buying reclamation projects like the Yankees do, how hard is it to give up your own reclamation projects?…

Judge walks, Rizzo bloops one the other way to put two on. Let's see if Gleyber can break out of his slump.

Canning is finally canned. And Phil Nevin looks like Mike Scioscia in some of those shots. Similar chubby face.

Volpe will be one of the best lead off men in the majors before the end of the season. He has all the instincts that it takes to be a great leader.

Oakland was blown out by the Cubs today. There were people saying before the season that they were a legitimate threat to challenge the 1962 Mets for the worst record. I kind of blew that off, but they're now 3-16, so it's looking plausible so far.

Ugh, this offense is in a deep slumber right now. Working on a third straight two-run game since Stanton went down.

Add to that that DJ did little to hold on to the job. After two years of injuries he flashes the old DJ once in awhile but it appears he is now “aging DJ”. I d ok t know that he’s the solution at third if somehow Donaldson can be erased from the roster…
