It’s po’ folks food. A decent smear of margarine on each slice of bread. Enough sauce to give some flavor to the spaghetti. Enough spaghetti to match the sauce. All cold… It’s sort of like my beans sandwiches. A smear of butter or margarine on each slice of bread. As many Campbells* Pork and Beans as you can imagine staying on the bread while you eat the sammy (they won’t, but you try). * Due to the scarcity of Campbells Pork and Beans in this area, I’ve learned to accept the more commonly available Van Camps (or is it Van Kamps? I think it’s with a K.)… When we were kids sometimes these are what we had, but I never minded either one. Smelts. That was the one I didn’t care for… Bones stayed in. They were soft after cooking, but still disgusting… I thought Campbell's were everywhere. I hear you on smelt. Among the many idiotic things my friends and I did in college was to try to make smelts a thing, pretending we loved them and insisting that they come from Digby Bay. Frying up huge batches of them and having people over to join us. We couldn't really persuade anyone that they were any good. Plenty of Cambell’s soup, but the Pork and Beans rarely gets a row on the bottom shelf… and the beans are not in the soup aisle. It’s just all so confusing. The Campbells truck is coming right? At least to the Wally World Warehouse. Why not throw some pork n beans on there, too? (that can be in that Paul O’Neill sarcastic tone, too.)… |

Like KFC, there is no cranny in most of the world where you can't find a Biryani joint, especially in more downscale neighborhoods. |
