I suppose that since I already cracked the door open on cheaters in the 300/300 club, I might as well get the other one out of the way.
Alex Rodriguez is one of three players along with Robin Yount and Tony LaRussa that appears at SS for an expansion team at only age18 in the 20th century. He also cheated and ran and slugged his way to the 300/300 club.
His place was cemented with steal nimber 14 in August of 2009…
Rodriguez....... 696..... 329........... w/SB 14-Aug-2010*
Now we’ll get back to legitimate members of the group…
After I get a shower…

I reluctantly post anything on the juicers. It ticks me off when articles issue praises as though they didn’t cheat… It will be interesting to see if the HOF blackballing stance ever softens on them. If any of Bonds/McGwire/Sosa/Clemens/ARod get in, Pete Rose better already be in. I hope the stance never changes, and that includes Rose. The must be consequences, and I would have no problem retracting membership for already elected players if solid proof ever comes out. Surely someone is in that shouldn’t be. I don’t know who and they’re welcome to stay as long as we don’t know…

In my opinion Rose should be in first and Shoeless Joe. But as Inger stated, there are consequences to breaking rules.

During Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak. The 1941 Yankees had posted a 41-13 record with 2 games suspended. Joe would hit .408 (91 for 223) with 15 HRS and 55 RBIs.

Indians Bob Feller toughest lifetime batter was Yankees Joe DiMaggio, who hit .341 against him. Red Sox slugger Ted Williams would hit .270

Part of that is probably my bias growing up an Ohio-boy. We all emulated Charlie Hustle on the base paths in little league and neighborhood wiffle ball games. But I get there are consequences for one's actions. If the juicers start getting in before Pete and Shoeless Joe, I'm going to be miffed.

A young Dan Patrick reports on a young Don Mattingly. This is awesome. I was a Mattingly superfan as a kid in the mid-80's (obviously), and he's to this day my favorite player ever. Growing up in NE Ohio in the mid-80's, one didn't simply go online and order their favorite player's jersey. So in my ingenuity, I took a marker and added the interlocked NY to the front and the number 23 to the back of a white tee to wear during neighborhood wiffle ball games. I even tried batting lefty for a while, though that didn't work out.

I've read some articles about the investigation and I think there is stong evidence that he took money to help throw the series. While his stats were pretty good he didn't seem to produce in key situations. He was on record under oath saying he received 5k of the promised 20k he was offerred. What is interesting in the stuff I read is that despite how the movie portrayed him, Bucky Weaver also in on the fix. At least to the point of knowing what was going on and participating in early meetings. He and family members claim he never took any money but some of the comments that were attributed to him during the investigation seem to contradict this.
