Just insane to lose that series had more than enough chances to sweep them but screwed it up Friday and can't hold a 6 run lead today.
Almost had 4 of 6 vs the guardians and rays but nope.

Difference in approach to the at bat with the game on the line. Gleyber watches a strike, swings at a ball in the dirt, then tries to pull. E-Sock to the opposite field on a ball up.

The only good thing the Rays didn't look 10 games better than the Yankees head to head.. really need to sweep the A's though.

Could have had two innings from King, an inning from Peralta, then Holmes with Hamilton just in case. That's how it played out in my mind at the time. Boone cannot take out a struggling Cole with 90 pitches with with zero outs in the sixth, but he just had to take out a dominant German with one out in the ninth at 88 pitches. Either time, if he felt he had to do so, King was the pick. He goes with shaky Holmes with a man on and with Wild Cordero in this one. |

One could argue Boone himself is responsible for losing 3 of the last 4, but we pulled one out despite him. This was a tough one.
