I'm glad the Yankees finally cut bait with Hicks. Unexpected but long overdue. Having said that, I wish him well going forward. He seems like a decent enough guy and my desire to see him gone is tactical, not personal. At first glance Allen doesn't seem like much of an upgrade, but it's nearly impossible that he could be a downgrade. Interesting when the Yankees brought up both Allen and Florial from AAA, both were hitting, playing solid defense, and stealing bases. First they sent back Florial, then sent back Allen in favor of Jonathan David. I will never forgive Cashman for such an idiotic move.

I've been out of the loop the past three days and never got to jump in on the Hicks DFA. I would have made this move in spring training but after all the talk about Hicks being released, I was hoping it would be made because the team finally found an everyday LF. Getting rid of Hicks for a bench player doesn't do much for me. Even with Hicks gone, this is a team with Calhoun and Bauers on the 26 man roster. Calhoun will be gone once Stanton finally makes it back but the Yankees keep insisting they see something in Bauers that no one sees.

If so how did it go?

If so how did it go? It was yesterday. It went OK, I got a calf cramp with about 2.5 to go so I had to really slow down, which put a hurt on my final time. Overall it was nice to see Green Bay and do a lap in Lambeau Field. Thanks for asking!

It wasn't too bad, a volunteer at the finish line noticed I was limping and lead me into the medical tent where a physical therapist stretched out both my calves and hamstrings. I felt a lot better after that.

It’s amazing. My sister used to run marathons. She’s 80 now and still has a passion for pickle ball… 80 huh? Bodes well for your longevity as well! She’s currently the family record-holder, with my brother Wayne not far behind at 77, tying my mother for second place, though mom dropped out of contention in ‘99… We have no idea how long grandparents lived or anyone earlier than that…Since I never met any of them, I would surmise they passed at an early age, but then again, mom and dad first met in New Jersey. The 125 miles of so distance was much further on the scale of possibilities in the 50’d and 60’s…

I can actually see myself doing two of those things. Actually, I just found out today that this summer the district office will be closed on Friday's for about six weeks. That may give me the opportunity I need to lose some freight.
