Not Smoltz on the broadcast. Can you Tweet this to him? 1996 World Series Game 5, Yankees at Braves, October 24

Well, that I could have timed a soft-boiled egg with the offense the Yankees produced that inning.

I'll try. Not sure he'll see it. He hasn't tweeted since 2017 so I doubt he sees it.

Andy Pettitte pitched into the ninth with one out before turning it over to Wetteland. Charlie Hayes scored the only run. Cecil Fielder had three hits including the only RBI.

Well, that I could have timed a soft-boiled egg with the offense the Yankees produced that inning. It’s one thing when we have to moan about a black hole at the bottom of the lineup, but when you have a black hole at the top of the line up, that sucks the mud off the bottom of the pond… Lead off man Gleyber swings at the first pitch…

Any time Calhoun catches a ball it’s a bonus. I wish we could lose him somehow…

Smoltz is still bitter all these years later. One unearned run was the difference. Andy Pettitte pitched into the ninth with one out before turning it over to Wetteland. Charlie Hayes scored the only run. Cecil Fielder had three hits including the only RBI. I remember Andy nailing a base runner at third trying to advance on a sac bunt. And of course, Paul O'Neill, with a bad hamstring, making the running catch in RF to end the game.
