German not as sharp as his last outing against the Dodgers. Some hard hit balls thus far, but he keeps them off the score board.

One unearned run was the difference. Andy Pettitte pitched into the ninth with one out before turning it over to Wetteland. Charlie Hayes scored the only run. Cecil Fielder had three hits including the only RBI. I remember Andy nailing a base runner at third trying to advance on a sac bunt. And of course, Paul O'Neill, with a bad hamstring, making the running catch in RF to end the game. Both highlights for sure. |
