Trade high while he’s hot… I don't see anyway they make the playoffs without him.

Trade high while he’s hot… I don't see anyway they make the playoffs without him. That depends on what comes back in the trade, but at this point our lack of offense does make it difficult to envision the Yanks giving up a player with an OPS + over 100. For the fun of it though, what if the Padres were to swap us Kim and Soto in trade for Torres and a package of high minor league prospects? Now, Kim is a darn good 2B, and the trade would have to be very heavy on the prospects, but it COULD happen. Might be more likely for pigs to fly, but there are situations where we wouldn’t miss Gleyber all that much…

Volpe is a better Torres, move Volpe to 2nd where is better suited. We’d all love to see it I think. Scary thing though is that Peraza has fanned in his last 8 AB and Volpe and Peraza each fanned 4 times yesterday. Ahhh… growing pains… As far as Torres recent hot hitting, what goes up must come down. In his case it’s often way down… His defense hasn’t been noticeable lately because we’re getting creamed in so many ways…

For Yankees fans, their relationship with Torres is complicated. While he has shown to be one of the Yankees' best all-around hitters, especially during their struggles without Judge, he does have lapses in the field and on the base paths. He does have nine errors at second base, which is the most for any player at his position across the majors. Again, Torres' bat could be something that teams at the trade deadline could be interested in. Not to mention, he does have one more year of arbitration remaining before he becomes a free agent after the 2024 season. Through 95 games, Torres recorded a .264 batting average, .333 on-base percentage, .430 slugging percentage, 14 home runs, 39 RBI, 55 runs scored, 94 hits, 57 strikeouts, and 38 walks in 356 at-bats. The time for the Yankees to look toward the future is now. They have Anthony Volpe starting at shortstop, with fellow top prospect shortstop Oswald Peraza up filling in for an injured Josh Donaldson. If there was any moment for the Yankees to utilize a middle infield of Volpe and Peraza, it's now. Let's not forget that Torres was nearly traded by the team at last year's deadline in a potential deal with the Miami Marlins for starting pitcher Pablo Lopez. The Yankees ultimately backed out of the deal at the last minute. If the Yankees can get a meaningful return for Torres, general manager Brian Cashman should consider finalizing a trade. www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/would-yankees-make-this-deal-for-ohtani/ar-AA1e7G3r?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=0bf5fc50bcb141f1bd55852fc37f6192&ei=28 = NO problems with Torres going but others NO WAY = Wait until he is a FA = cost us ZERO Prospects. The Yankees get Ohtani. The Angels get OF Jasson Domínguez, INF Oswald Peraza, OF Spencer Jones, INF Gleyber Torres. It’s a steep price. Domínguez is at Double-A Somerset and is considered the Yankees’ No. 1 prospect by MLB.com. Pereza, an infielder, made his MLB debut last year but his hitting around .200 this season. Torres would be a get for the Angels, an infielder with solid power and average, who once hit 38 home runs in 2019. Jones is the Yankees’ No. 3 prospect and is at High Class-A Hudson Valley.

Please trade Torres while we can get a decent return. Soon he will start his yearly collapse...so make the deal now. We got The fox that can slide over...

I have read a number of article that are very critical of the yanks not calling up their prospects quick enough. I agree.
Given that information I fully believe that cash will do what is had always done and trade our prospects for veterans thinking this is the boost that we need to get to the WS. As always he will be wrong again.
I believe he will go after Soto from SD. go figure. I will say a pray for our prospects.
Form a box...

He is a game changer and would help this team a lot and is also young and controllable more than 1 year. Not sure what you are getting at with Cash trading prospects? He has kept all the bigger ones and traded not the top ones unless you were wanting Junk from Sears.

I like Soto and would like to see him playing for the Yankees. It has been mentioned here many times about our top prospects and I will defer to others who are more knowledgeable about them. I had reasonable hopes for Cabrera but it has not worked out with him and I hope Volpe is still a work in progress because he sure has not hit for average or on base percentage. Maybe Peraza will help and I am in favor of giving him a long leash so we can find out. I guess my point is if we have to trade what we think are prospects for Soto just do it. He is a proven commodity. At this point I am not sure about our prospects.

And they probably still think they are contenders.

Anyway another reliever traded to the AL East Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
