Only Inger can answer that one, but I think the first thing he would do would be to insist that he could only work remotely from his home office in Bug Tussle, CO and would never have to come within a thousand miles of NYC. m Sounds about right… And it also sounds like something I might consider doing. Trade the big three, release Stanton to play for any team he wishes. Find a good home for Gleyber, all within my first week… I’d be looking for combo trades where I’m acquiring faster, younger talent with great defensive skills. Lots of switch hitters, flexibility. Plus high minor league talent, ready to step up to MLB the next couple years. And do so from my living room. Since I’m acquiring minor league talent I’m also going to be willing to reorganize my priorities among those MiLB prospects we now have and many of them will also be sent packing. I would do dumpster dives, but only on the weekends and just for fun… I’d stir the organization as with a big stick, and the press would be abuzz about what the Yankees are doing, speculating that we’d be on the bottom for the next decade because of the “ruin” I’ve brought to the franchise. Meanwhile, the young and hungry players I’d bring in would start winning. And winning. And winning. We would never again keep a player beyond his 32nd birthday. And then they would have to beg to stay after 30. The team target would be 200 HR, 200 SB every season. No player that can’t contribute significantly to those columns would remain on the roster. Anyone making any kind of common sense error would be subject to benching for the first offense, and trade or release for the second offense. I’d demand Hal cut my budget so he and the fam can take a long vacation, like a decade and get out of my way. Then I’d start a silent takeover that would force him to sell the team to me, and give me some spending money on the side. Almost forgot about Boone. I’d replace him with artificial intelligence, and I’d hire Buck Showalter back to push the buttons and read off the answers. In honor of my friend Dome, I’d form a box. I don’t know what I’m gonna do with it yet, but I’d surely form one. Like cats, I’ve always loved boxes…in the years that I used to purchase corrugated boxes for plant packing I learned the difference in the different types of glue tabs, the strengths of different fluting, advantages of waxed boxes for some applications, creation of dividers, when to eliminate them… the difference in using cheap or deluxe quality tape, especially if you switch to automatic taping machines once you start to ship in large quantities and the financial savings that can occur if you convince your customers to receive product on shipping carts instead of buying all those boxes… Yes boxes. They can save the Yankees! I have boxing become a priority in the minors so the players would understand it when they make it to the major leagues… I had of course suspected that you had given this some thought and had a plan.

I’ve already contacted three of my old corrugated sales people and found that they’ve all retired. The plan is falling apart, unless of course I build new relationships in the industry. The guy that sold me the tape I liked and the automatic taping machine had even passed away (really) twenty years, where have they gone? … 20 years now, where'd they go? 20 years, I don't know I sit and I wonder sometimes Where they've gone And sometimes late at night Oh, when I'm bathed in the firelight The moon comes callin' a ghostly white And I recall, I recall Like a rock, standin' arrow straight Like a rock, chargin' from the gate Like a rock, carryin' the weight Like a rock If you want I can talk about my rock collection too…

Robertson has had an amazing career and he's still striking guys out. I could see him having a resurgence with the Yankees and it might rub off on the BP

I would do that trade so quick ... If the Yankees sign Soto which I hope they do They will have Judge and Soto tied up for Years and Dominguez next year ... Where is Jones Going to play if he ever makes it? Rice is a better hitter than Jones will ever be ... Ramirez is ready to come up and Catch and DH Jones is the perfect trade bait right now ... over hyped and depth. Put him in AAA beef his stats and raise his trade value

I think it would cost more than Jones to get Crochet, at least it would if I was the GM of the White Sox. Agree, but not including him seems to be a deal breaker or at least it is being projected as that by the author. Would you give up Jones, Hampton and maybe someone like Peraza? Definitely Jones and Peraza ... I havent followed enough of Hampton to know but I'd try to avoid it if possible

Which would you prefer? 1) Boone fired 2) Soto traded and a full rebuild commences Full rebuild has to include Judge and Cole ... So Trade Judge (one of the Greatest players we've ever seen) Soto (One of the Greatest Players at this point in his career) and Cole a CY Young winner last year for a package of players who may never amount to anything special Great Idea !

I was reading an article about TDL rumors and it mentioned that even if the Yankees don't make any moves at the TDL they will be on the hook for a $62mm LT penalty. That would bring their 2024 payroll to $370mm. That penalty is the equivalent of two superstars or in our case another Stanton and Rodon.

Which would you prefer? 1) Boone fired 2) Soto traded and a full rebuild commences 3) None of the above.
A team with Cole, Judge, and Soto on their roster shouldn't even be thinking about rebuilding. In my opinion, the Yankees changing managers in the middle of the season isn't going to make a difference, because the Yankees will still have the same flaws and the same players on the IL.
In my opinion, if the Yankees don't make to the AL Championship Series, Hal will probably hire a new manager. Also in my opinion, that new manager isn't going to make a difference unless the Yankees fix the flaws on their team.
I think in the modern era managers are of limited impact. Most things are outside their control.
