I woke up around 11, checked my phone and saw that it was 7-0 and went back to sleep. Got to check that box score and the hits column. 😂

Jomboy takes the rare L. Jomboy was not alone. I fell asleep just before it started and woke up to read about it. Well, maybe they'll throw another one today. I was thinking about texting you after the 7th but it was almost midnight and didn’t want to wake you.

Thanks for the thought Kaybli, but I wouldn't have heard it anyway because I shut the phone down when I head off to never-never land. I have to admit I was amazed when I saw what happened. Just hope Schmidt throws one today for those of us who missed German's masterpiece.

The Yankees scored nearly 30 percent of their run output for the entire month of June last night. Hope there are still a few bullets left in the chamber.

I just learned this morning that on the day he pitched his perfect game, Don Larsen's wife Vivian filled for divorce.

Interesting fact even though there is the pitch clock now this is one of the longer perfect games since David Wells which was 2 hours and 40 mins. This one was 2 hours and 30 mins. Cone 2:16 Johnson 2:13 Burhele 2:03 Braden 2:07 Halladay 2:13 Humber 2:17 Cain 2:36 King Felix 2:22 Oakland's dofus play while the Yankees were hitting extended the game.

Looked up some numbers on the Yankees four perfect games -- Cone threw 88 pitches, Larsen 97, German 99 and the hungover Wells 120.
You know there had to be geniuses in the Yanks' analytics department who were apoplectic that Boone let German go through the order a third time.

Kyle Higashioka is only the second Yankees catcher ever to call multiple no-hitters, joining Yogi Berra.

Kyle Higashioka is only the second Yankees catcher ever to call multiple no-hitters, joining Yogi Berra. Yogi caught three -- Larsen's and two by Mr G's old favorite Allie Reynolds in 1951. Reynolds' second one came against Boston late in the season. The last guy he had to retire was Ted Williams. After taking a strike, Williams hit a pop foul that Yogi dropped. Reynolds reassured Yogi that they'd get him next pitch. Williams told Reynolds and Berra "you sons of bitches have put me in a tough spot." Next pitch Ted hit an almost identical foul pop. This time Yogi squeezed it for the final out.

Germán, 30, had never pitched a shutout in his 13 professional seasons. He had only one complete game, in the minors in 2017
