Stanton with a good at bat and Gleyber gets lucky with the Orioles bobble or he would have been out at the plate. Ran through the stop sign at third. Works out, fortunately.

Well, Inger, it's 95 degrees here but feels like 102 with an AQI of 37 and humidity of 40%. Severe weather possible after 7:00 PM. Small hail possible. Thought you'd like to know.

I remember a few times I grabbed a base on a sleeping defense. There are times when you know the outfielder has a lazy or sleepy demeanor and you just make up your mind ahead of time. There was this one outfielder I played against that the opposing team would put in centerfield. He had a habit of fielding base hits and running the ball part way in before tossing a high looping throw back in. I singled through the infield once and saw he was starting to trot back in to get closer to the infield and took the turn at first. He wax only 25-30 feet from second base and sure enough, he threw that little looper. The very alert SS tagged me but he was too late. I had a double and the doofus OF was screaming “you can’t run on that!”. Of course that explained a lot… |
