Tonight is the night that hopefully Rizzo will break out of his power slump. Against Taillon, he's hit .455 with 2 HR's and 6 RBI in 22 AB's. Against Rizzo's old team too. I'm sure he wishes these game were in Wrigley. |

I heard from Tim Kirkjian a couple days that the Braves have scored 87 runs in the first inning this year!

Volpe getting back to spraying the ball around, just right at defenders lately. Remember in April when he had some hard outs like that last one? I hope he doesn't get frustrated he go back to that upswing, lift the ball hitting style. |

I heard from Tim Kirkjian a couple days that the Braves have scored 87 runs in the first inning this year! Seems like the Yankees have scored 8 or 7. |

And, I think he's going to want to cut down on his strikeouts. |

That's one of the reasons that statistic stayed in my head. I was trying to imagine our record with that kind of early production. We wouldn't be in third place, that's for certain. |

I don't care for the Cubbies away uniforms, but their home uniforms are sweet. Those road uniforms are very similar to what they wore during Three-Finger Brown's last season in 1916, with the walking bear inside the C. They've had several versions of the cub over the years, including a really goofy cartoon bear during World War II. I do like the Cubby Blue color. Yeah, the Wrigley uniforms are another classic. Mostly unchanged since 1979. And pretty similar going back to the late 1940s. |
