It's dismal. But still I feel obligated to watch. Hard to change the habits of a lifetime. That reminds me of an old Norm Macdonald joke, where he talks about his seldom seen disgruntled uncle, who walks him around his neighborhood: "See that church over there, Norm. I was one of the carpenters that helped build it." "See that bridge over that river, Norm. I was one of the engineers who helped design it." "But, I tell you, Norm, do people remember the good that you did?" "No!" "Do they see me and say, "There goes that church builder, or there goes that bridge designer?" "No!" "But, I tell you what, Norm, you have sex with one goat and ..." That one made me laugh. |
