I wouldn't mind seeing the take a college bat that could be in the big leagues in a short period of time to help this old and stale lineup.

I've looked at several mock drafts this morning and they all have the Yankees picking HS SS Sammy Stafura. He's a local kid, much like Volpe. I would be surprised if the Yanks pick someone else, but Stafura could go earlier and they would have to shift to hopefully a college bat or pitcher.

2016: Blake Rutherford Having a good season for Rochester (Nationals)
2017: Clarke Schmidt Holding his own as Yanks starter
2018: Anthony Siegler Has been a dud who can't stay healthy
2019: Anthony Volpe Yanks starting SS
2019: T. J. Sikkema Traded with 2 others to KC for Benintendi
2020: Austin Wells Yanks #2 prospects stuck in AA
2021: Trey Sweeney Having a pretty good season in AA
2022: Spencer Jones Just played in the Futures Game

We could use help in the next couple of seasons, not 4 or 5. Rumor has it the Pirates are going to take a high school kid with the top pick instead of one of the two LSU stars. I guess they feel the two college kids will be too expensive but I wouldn't be happy if I was a Pirates fan. |

I guess they feel the two college kids will be too expensive but I wouldn't be happy if I was a Pirates fan. There are some scouts that believe Paul Skenes is so close to MLB level that they could see him in the bullpen without ever going to the minors. Others are suggesting that Skenes start as high as AA and would likely make the ML rotation in less than a year. |

It may take a little money to pry him away from his Vanderbilt commitment. You never know with the Pirates. |

Pirates also might take Fla OF Wyatt Langford because he would cost less than Skene or Crews. |
