My daughter was in a play at our local library and I'm just turning the game on. Is there anyone our offense can hit? We seem to be better against name brands, like Ohtani and Scherzer. The six and seven ERA guys who no one knows, throttle us. It's madding trying to make sense of these guys.

Why would they lift Grichuk? Thank you, Rockies!

The Donut King shuts down the Rockies in the sixth, giving up a lucky slow roller that hit third base.

The Mad Gomber out of the game in the seventh, so maybe we can get to their bullpen.

I guess we can forget the new start with the second half.

Volpe takes the pitch right down the middle and chases the pitch way out of the strike zone.

Listening to David Cone's Toeing the Slab Podcast on the way to Fort Worth this afternoon, Coney was excited about Sean Casey as the new Yankees' hitting coach. He described Casey as one of those great guys in the game, positively rubbing off on everyone around him, able to talk with anyone, and boundless energy. Cone said there is a reason Casey's nickname was "The Mayor." He said it will obviously take Casey some time to acclimate to the Yankees' hitters but said the team will appreciate the energy, communication, and positivity that Casey brings to the clubhouse, as he did everywhere he was in his career. Cone said Casey is one of those people who no one has a negative thing to say about.

I guess we can forget the new start with the second half. It's becoming far too predictable.

Higgy with a high throw to second base on the strike out. Two out, man on second.

John, and especially Suzyn are just appalled that the Yankees, WTH a new hitting coach haven’t taken a walk tonight. It seems rather obvious but there seems to be no thought at all that perhaps… just perhaps the pitchers simply haven’t thrown enough pitches out of the strike zone for us to draw walks…
It’s also interesting to hear some of the names of our “new” players, like a guy named “Kinah” Falefa…
