That’s at least his third error in the little bit of outfield time he’s had this years. I recall 2 egregious throwing errors on balls that should have never been thrown toward home. He’s really skilled, but like a lot of things this year, his contribution has not gone as planned at all times… The .280 OBP makes him expendable, I'd trade him this weekend in the right deal. least hes not at womack levels yet |

Yankees outhit, 12-5, in a 9-3 loss to the Mets. Verlander did what he usually does against them.
They're three games back in the Wild Card race, last in the AL East. The trade deadline is Tuesday.

Judge coming back should improve things, but the issue right now is they got themselves in this mess where it's only July and they have to play like it's the last week of September where every game has a big amount of weight on them. They made up a lot of ground this weekend, but lost a half game yesterday being idle and everyone else winning now tonight Boston is shockingly up 4-1 on Atlanta in the 4th, Dodgers- Blue Jays just started tied at 1. Angels won, Seattle is winning so its possible by the end of the night Boston could be ahead of them again...and even if Toronto loses you have Seattle and the Angels only a game or so behind.
They have 34 of their 53 wins against above 500 teams which means they only have 19 wins against below 500 teams that is just not good enough. (34-34 above .500, 19-14 below .500)

The only thing they got going for them is they've been pretty good against the division head to head except the Red Sox and even the Red Sox all of those games were like right after Judge went out. Bal 5-5 Bos 1-5 TBR 3-4 Tor 4-3 We have no idea about Houston since they haven't played, but with Houstons win tonight they are only a game back of Texas and if Houston passes Texas then that is not good for the Yankees, because they have no head to heads left with Texas. I think the Yankees best chance is passing Toronto and they do finish the season with 6 of their last 12 vs them, but can't start letting the Angels, Seattle, and the Red Sox get in from them either. |
