Did a very good version of Walking in Memphis which I think we discussed somewhere deep in the middle of the music thread.

"I Got You Babe" with Sonny. None of her solo stuff, not a fan. I do love her backing vocals on The Ronettes "Be My Baby" when she was 17 years old. Do you remember this song: Of course. Great song. They had another hit with "Make It Easy On Yourself." Although they were from the US, they were much more popular in the UK. A lot of kids in the US thought they actually were British, which in the mid-60s worked very much in your favor.

Kay and Nelson dishing dirt on Mike Mussina. Clearly not their favorite.

watching this game, surely the bullpen was a problem. I'm glad they brought in another reliever.

I first heard it on the X-Files' episode "The Great Mutato."

Kay and Nelson dishing dirt on Mike Mussina. Clearly not their favorite. He was a bit prickly and aloof, alone with his crossword puzzles.

Kay and Nelson dishing dirt on Mike Mussina. Clearly not their favorite. You could tell it bothers Kay that Mussina could care less if he ever talked to him again. A serious blow to his ego.

I bet we could put together a team of all Yankee back-ups that could bury this team and challenge for the division title.

“Gypsies Tramps and Thieves.” In my mind she had no other except “I Got You Babe.”

Some of the most recognizable songs to this day were released in 1971. Lennon - Imagine, Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks, Santana - Black Magic Woman, Van Morrison - Domino, Marvin Gaye - What's Going On and Mercy-Mercy-Me, Temptations - Just My Imagination, Three Dog Night - Joy to the World, Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar, Tommy James - Dragging the Line, Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine, Rod Stewart - Maggie May, Cat Stevens - Peace Train, Rare Earth - I Just Want to Celebrate, Isaac Hayes - Theme from Shaft, Jerry Reed - Amos Moses and When You're Hot, You're Hot, Janis Joplin - Me and Bobby McGee, Gordon Lightfoot - If You Could Read My Mind...it just never ends Wow, that's a definitive list. I remember you couldn't escape the Tapestry album by Carole King. It wouldn't make most lists, but for whatever reason "Treat Her Like A Lady" by The Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose sticks in my mind from that year. Late in the year the grating Blue Swede version of "Hooked On A Feeling" came out. "Riders On The Storm" was 71 I believe. Hooga-Chocka…
