Schmidt does accomplish the goal of keeping us in the game. Only around 80 pitches. I wish he could start the 7th on a short leash, but I don’t expect it… too much for Boone…

One left-handed hitter in the line up tonight against the right-handed Glasnow, and his name is Rortvedt, batting .122. There's not a hitter anywhere in the bottom 6 of the line-up. I recognize there are a bunch of rookies there, but still, that's beyond terrible. Leaving Volpe out hurts that back end of the lineup.

This is a franchise that retired Wade Boggs number. True enough. Say no more. I did some research and they also retired Don Zimmer's #66. The only other number they have retired is the mandatory #42 for Jackie Robinson.

Stanton waves at a mediocre fastball low and over the middle, not away as Kay called it.

What an awful AB by Bader.

Bader is awful at the plate. He is moving the wrong way toward a .280 OBP. That's OBP, folks.

It’s also a bit terrible that we only have RHH prospects to promote at a time when the line up is out of balance so badly. Maybe we should have swapped prospects for some lefty hitters from someone else’s organization… when will this issue be fixed? It’s been like three years now or so…

Has Cashman signed anybody that can hit in the last 5 years? Gallo, Donaldson, Bader, IKF, Trevino, McKinney, Calhoun, Cordero, etc.

Bad pitch selection right there. Have to go back inside, then the curveball.

Boone is like clockwork with these pitching changes.

Solid performance from Schmidt. A little defense in the first inning, and this could be an old time pitchers' duel.

Boone is like clockwork with these pitching changes. He loves the in-inning change, especially with two outs. It's becoming his trademark. Despite this bullpen's difficulty with inherited runners, Boone hardly gives any reliever a clean inning.
