I was on another forum once where the moderator ruled with an "iron fist", to the point he even shut down conversation that was sports related but he felt a bit off topic to a thread. I can't believe this is an issue. I for one enjoy the latitude we have with discussions. I guess my only red lines would be politics and religion because they can be so personal and often lead to incivility. IMHO, Kaybil does an excellent job moderating the board. I do sense there is an increased amount of conflict since us refugees have joined, hope it hasn't been too disruptive and diminishes at some point. As you know, there was a separate forum on YES for “The Sport of Politics”…and political discussion was verboten in the Yankee forum.

I dont care if people think i am a major cause of conflict . Its not my problem that i dont conform to some people’s expectations of how people should be on a message board and then they have a hard time dealing with it when i dont bend to their way of thinking and acting It takes all kinds. I remember the Pinstripes Plus paid side had a guy that grabbed a thread (didn’t even bother to make his own) and declared it to be “his” where he would comment without inviting replies. Well, naturally that made me want to reply constantly. It would piss him off to no end that he couldn’t have his personal blog on a public forum, and it disturbed me that he expected us to just blindly follow his opinion. You are incorrect however about one thing. You do care. In fact it drives you somewhat. You like to stir the pot. You react in ways that show you care. But you are a good Yankees fan and only want what’s best. Sorry if this ruins your day… 😂

Increased conflict since I joined?!?!?! Well, someone should have warned them not to let me in. I'm considering leaving, as Groucho Marx once said: "I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member.” I wouldn’t consider you to be a major cause of conflict here, Joe. I’d rather you stick around, but of course it’s your choice…Not everyone will stay… I was actually joking, but I very often am the only one who gets my humor. But I truly appreciate the sentiment! Thanks

Thanks I thought it might be dry, muted humor, but not knowing you all that well at this point I didn’t want to just LOL you… One thing we then have in common is a weird sense of humor…

As you know, there was a separate forum on YES for “The Sport of Politics”…and political discussion was verboten in the Yankee forum. Ahh yes the dreaded Sport of Politics forum. I visited there a few times but was attacked for being a conservative by almost everyone, and I determined all that hate was something I had no stomach for.

I feared someone would ask how a guy who thought Jesus Montero was going to be a star should be taken seriously in solving the problems of the world !!!

He's definitely one of the good guys.

We banned politics and religion after learning the hard way. I enjoy the free flowing conversations and my philosophy as a moderator is to be generally hands off unless something crosses the line or effects the readability of the board. Sure, there is a little more conflict since the YES boarders joined but that's just to be expected as the number of users grow and new personalities are introduced. I don't think conflict and debate should be necessarily frowned up as long as it doesn't get nasty. If there's anything I can do to improve as a moderator do let me know. Snacks, polo shirts with forum logo, soft serve ice cream machine.

It seems simple. Don't click on the title link if you're not interested in the thread topic. OK, but don't call this a Yankees forum. Call it a "talk about what every you want forum". I signed up because I wanted something to replace the YES forum, which most of the time talk about specific Yankee topics. Guess I need to look again. It appears that in your totality of six posts, you've written almost solely of your disappointment in this forum and its threads, while completely avoiding talking about the Yankees or even baseball in general. Do you see the irony?
