Bob Nightengale: “Free-agent starter Marcus Stroman has informed the Yankees he’s seriously interested in signing with them, but the Yankees have declined to make an offer."

Give him a nice low ball incentive laden offer 2-3 years at about $12m per ...

If Seattle is going to start trading pitchers, they probably won't trade Castillo, but I wouldn't mind if the Yankees traded for Gilbert. I'd rather Gilbert because he is younger and cost controlled ... but for that reason I think Seattle would be less likely to trade him than Castillo I think Seattle would crazy to trade Gilbert, like you said, is cost controlled or Castillo, who is signed to very fair contract.

I'd rather the Yankees trade for Gilbert, if it means they have money leftover to sign Hader. I lost a measure of respect for Hader last year when he refused to come out for a four out save… I'd certainly have to hear a lot from him about his attitude if I'm the GM.

I listened the other day to Trevor Bauer spending an hour on WFAN making a very factual and somewhat apologetic statement about his past. He really sounds like someone who has not only changed, he seems like someone who would be a positive influence on others who may end up in similar situations in the clubhouse. He says that the rumored tension between him and Cole is nonexistent. Could he be worth a "damaged goods" deal?

There's plenty of options on the pitching table to have to waste time on Bauer.

The Yankees have quietly ignored his contract request, they are after Jordan and Snell, while looking a possible trade with the White Sox. Clipper

Monty's wife is currently doing her winter medical studies near the Boston area, which in turn brought about the recent rumors of a possible Red Sox signing. Clipper

Bauer is a narcissistic psychopath who would be a cancer to any clubhouse. I don't want any part of him. His long standing rift with Cole is a result of sophomoric envy. His abuse of women is horrific and it's unlikely that he has suddenly changed. I hope he signs with the Red Sox.

Innocent until proven guilty. I'd take Bauer in a heartbeat.

His abuse of women is horrific and it's unlikely that he has suddenly changed. I hope he signs with the Red Sox. I am not an advocate of judging people, especially in the court of public opinion, via click-bait articles, and from the eternally-aggrieved social justice warriors. Too many gold-diggers out there trying to make a buck or achieve some level of fame and attention. If you have ever been falsely accused of a crime, in reality - unlike theory, you are guilty until you can prove your innocence - even in a court of law. When that happens, you find out who your friends (and even family) are. Bauer was never arrested, never formally charged with a crime, and likewise never had his day in a court of law. All allegations were rejected by the district attorney. Even the restraining order was dissolved by a female court judge who did not buy the allegations. Yet, Bauer lost his job and is now saddled with a reputation of an abuser. No doubt that Bauer is an awkward individual, has difficulty getting along with people, which are a couple of several reasons why I have always suspected that he is on the spectrum for characteristics of autism. College and professional athletes are warned each year that whenever they have sexual encounters to always use a condom and to throw away the condom immediately by flushing it down the toilet, as there are numerous women who have used the contents of the condom in attempt to get themselves pregnant. In college, I was a good looking guy. More than a couple of times, girls would lie to me about their age, about being on the pill, and even about being married or single. This one girl from my Spanish class asked me to tutor her. One thing led to another and once in the sack, she asked me to strangle her, to slap her, and to bite her throat and leave marks - man, I was dressed and ran to my car faster than you can say Anthony Volpe! Trust me, being falsely accused and having to fight for your own reputation is something I would not wish on my worst enemy. Just read a couple Kafka novels and you'll get the idea. Unless you have lived through it, don't be so quick to believe the rhetoric...at least not to a virtual certainty.
