How is this possible ? do they have to pay 110% or is it only the Yankees? 10 Years for a catcher is crazy but it's only $14M a year which is good. Why cant cashman get creative with our guys? Probably too late but he should have gave Gleyber a 12 year $200M to keep him for $16-17m a year He tried it with Severino and Hicks and it backfired. I thought the deal with Sevy made sense at the time, Hicks was just the wrong player. Cano received a contract extension too. Luckily for the Yankees Chien-Ming Wang didn't.

Don't know, but having seen his demeanor around his wife, he will never draw a walk.

I haven't exhaustively searched all the threads, so maybe someone else has mentioned this before, but I thought I'd wrap up the offseason thread (1st pitch on 1st game of the day is in about 40 minutes) by pointing out that the White Sox have picked up former Yankees prospect Deivi Garcia and put him into a middle relief role on their Opening Day roster.
Maybe they think they can help him overcome his severe command problems and turn him back into a usable starting pitcher. He turns 25 in May, so he still has a chance, if not a particularly good one, to have a substantial major league career.

You're right, of course. It is just my opinion (and I'm not taking that as an insult...sometimes I give my opinions and write them as if I'm an expert and I know I'm not), and really, I don't know what Morris will be. I will say this: the Indians, who do a terrific job developing pitching, both starting and relieving, traded Morris for a failed prospect in Florial. That tells me they don't think he'll make it. They're wrong sometimes, but not often. Man, that stinks. I was so excited that we finally had an expert on this forum. Now, I'm going to have to send back all of those appreciative gifts I bought you. Yeah, that post deserves that reply. Justly said.
