After the death of Socrates and the break up of Greek culture that resulted from the Peloponnesian Wars, the pinnacle of philosophy fragmented into three pieces: Epicureanism, Skepticism, and Stoicism. Only the latter deserves mention with the former glory of Greece. Zeno heralded in the greatest range of practitioners from Epictitus - a slave to Marcus Aurelius - an emperor. "Even in a palace, one can live well." Imagine the temptations of Marcus Aurelius - supreme ruler of the then known world - yet he never succumbed due to a manner of thinking. Very impressive precis of Greek philosophy Rizz. I feel like I'm back in school when we actually had time to delve into this. Although I can see some attraction to Epicureanism, properly practiced. As long as it doesn't lead to the fourth school of Greek philosophy, Alcoholism. Yet, that was Stoicism: to take part in pleasure without any of the corresponding pain.

Actually yes. I went to bed at 11:30 last night and slept in through until about 7:30. Even took a one hour nap this morning, too. Put three hours of hard labor in on the property today. How you sleeping, Rizz? … About three to four hours per night. Not optimum. I'll try the Avinol PM again tonight, but it hasn't worked as well since the first pill I took. True. Not optimal… I’m mostly getting my 6 hours, but if I was working I’d have to be up early and would not be. I was hoping for good news from you for both our sakes in case I need to find something…

Geez enough with the walks. Not sure it matters after 2 runs. We ain't scoring more than one, if that, tonight. I don't get it you gotta give them credit they finally cut Donaldson, Hicks earlier in the season, Bader gone on waivers, give the kids a chance. Like they had a lot of turn over the last month and just NOTHING improves. Record went better a little bit but overall offense not too much better.

Ugh. Can we score four runs before three outs? Like I said yesterday they need 6-6 for 82-80 and yet they are likely going to make it to the very end if they will do it.

Then there’s the steadfast determination to play Stanton, and finally… the rookies haven’t hit much. DJ, Torres, Oswaldo, Higgy. That’s really all we’ve got hitting…

I used to practice antidisestablishmentarianism, but I have since moved on to botulism.
