One of the articles I read on this series pointed out that there has never been a post-season seven-game series in which the visiting team won each game. In fact there has only been one where the first six games were won by the visiting team. That was the 2019 World Series between the Nationals and Astros. That streak was stopped in Game Seven when Washington won at home behind Max Scherzer, who is pitching tonight for Texas. I don't trust Scherzer for a game seven anymore. Hope I'm wrong. A quick 3-0 lead for the Rangers & Mad Max here in the first inning.

Wow, Javier out after one-third of an inning.

Wow, Javier out after one-third of an inning. He's usually lights out in the post season.

Wow, Javier out after one-third of an inning. He's usually lights out in the post season. Yep. Crazy game. Phillies forced to a seventh game by an aggressive Arizona team.

Astros get one back in the first after Altuve breaks a glass pane on the scoreboard on the first pitch. Smoltz is annoying even when the Yankees aren't playing. He runs off at the mouth. A bit like McCarver in being unable to shut up.

Corey Seagar would have been perfect for Yankee Stadium.

Corey Seagar would have been perfect for Yankee Stadium. Judge, Harper and Seagar in the middle of the order might have won a few games.

Garcia is just killing the Astros in this series.

Imagine a team making adjustments as a TEAM during a series after struggling with Javier's fastball? Boone and the Yankees would simply say, "This is what got us here. Now is no time to change. We believe in our players."

This place is just like Fenway, where routine flyballs turn into extra base hits.

Credit Bruce Bochy for yanking Scherzer at that point. Boone would have tried to get him to go five innings because of his "pedigree." Our old friend Jordan Montgomery still pitching in the playoffs, gets out of the inning.

1st base open and Dusty pitches to Garcia.

1st base open and Dusty pitches to Garcia. That sounds like the counter-intuitive choice for an veteran manager. First base open, you walk Judge every time. Señor Octubre strikes again!
