Arguably the most underrated of Yankee greats. One thing that struck me from the clip was how better the base running was. Just watch the slight angle Boggs takes at the last second sliding in to third base, and how easily guys like Prince Fielder score on a ground ball. Better fundamentals, better baseball. |

Part of that is the fault of Yankees management who could have facilitated a move to left field for him, but kept playing him in CF… Bernie did not have much of an arm, and he also did not get the quickest jumps, but he could outrun mistakes, had soft hands, and his concentration and hustle were exceptional. Beautiful to watch at full speed. Like a gazelle out there. |

But, he had Derek Jeter as a relay man, who had a much better arm than he is given credit and ranged farther to the outfield than normal infielders' positioning on such plays to accept those weak throws. |

It took 15 innings, but that legendary Braves lineup finally scored a run in the post season. Still the trail the Phillies 4-1 and are in danger of falling behind their series 2-0
