Hot stove show is back. Curry just said that he believes the talks will start again and this is something the Yankees are motivated to get done.

Iām almost 70, and Iāve been watching the game over 60 years. There was always a āNext Mickey Mantleā, yet there never was another Mantle. Then, thereād be a new Koufax on the horizon, only heād hurt his arm and wind up selling insurance. Prospects arenāt anything until they hit MLB. Then and only then can they be evaluated. Thatās why what you do is called prospect hugging and gets ridiculed by most fansā¦ I always go back to Gregg Jefferies when I think too highly of a prospect. Remember how he was supposed to become the face of baseball back in 1987/88? Was never more than an average 2B with the Mets. Turned into a pretty good hitter once he was out of NY, but he never became Rogers frickin' Hornsby v2.0 like he was supposed to be if you listened to the "experts." To a lesser extent I remember the insane hype around Hensley "Bam-Bam" Meulens in the early 90's. Never amounted to anything. If a package of prospects can net you what you are HOPING one of them could some day become, you should do it. |

Iām away from home and my twitter stopped working so I canāt post the links but a bunch of reporters stayed up late thinking a Soto deal might get done tonight on the early morning hours. Then they were told there would be no deal tonight. I think they are close. Might wake up to tomorrow to a done deal. š
