Doesn't sound like they expect Dominguez back for most of the year then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I expect he’ll be less of a power threat until at least the following season. It’s not a death knell on his career, just a delay…

He's better than the Franchy Corderos, Billy McKinneys and Jake Bauers we put forth last year. But that's all I got. Hope this pans out, but color me skeptical. He rakes pretty well vs. righties (.290), and his pop will be better utilized as a Yankee. Hopefully we get him a platoon partner. Then he becomes a late-game PH weapon as well…

Doesn't sound like they expect Dominguez back for most of the year then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Even if they do, depth is never a bad thing. We all know Stanton's injury history. It's almost inevitable that he'll be out for stretches. When that's the case, Verdugo in LF, Dominguez in CF, Judge back to RF and Soto to DH. For Verdugo, he's had serious platoon splits. His career split is .807 OPS vs righties and .665 vas lefties. And diving further into it, last year OPS of .793 vs. righties last year compared to .609 vs. lefties. In 2022 it was a .746/.693 split. 2021 was a drastic .894/.554 split. So it isn't like he's reversed that trend in recent years. Sometimes you see guys with exaggerated career splits compared to recent years where they learn to hit same-handed pitchers but that's not the case for Verdugo. Now, from what I've read on Dominguez he projects as a better left-handed hitter than right handed himself, but nonetheless there should be some opportunity for playing time against lefties when Verdugo should probably be sitting. And then on Judge, if he's going to be relied on in CF, you probably want as much rest as you can afford. All together, even if Dominguez comes back ready to contribute, there still should be plenty of playing time for him. Maybe not as an everyday player (unless Stanton is out) but enough for him to still be a valuable contributor if he's up to it health wise.

I’d give him plenty of MiLB time until he appears to be back in full MLB-ready condition. Patience will pay off in the long run. If we don’t see him again until late 2024 or even 2025, that’s okay with me…

His OOA was a bit below average last year. I’m hoping the short porch and pinstripes put a charge in him…
